Description
Løype Tweezers are practical tweezers for scent discrimination training in obedience. They are used to move and place the unscented scent articles without you having to touch them directly with your hands.
In scent discrimination, the dog must identify the article carrying the handler's scent among several other articles. It is therefore important that the other articles do not accidentally get the same scent when the training exercise is prepared.
Avoid scent on the wrong article
When you touch a scent article with your hands, you leave a scent behind. That is exactly what you want to do with the article the dog should identify – but not with the others.
The tweezers are therefore used to handle the unscented articles without direct hand contact. Løype describes the handling and movement of unscented articles as the function of the tweezers.
It gives you better control over the training setup and reduces the risk of you creating accidental scent clues yourself.
For scent discrimination in obedience
The tweezers are designed as an accessory for scent articles for obedience and can be used both when placing the articles before the exercise and when they need to be moved between repetitions.
